Free software

There is a lot of free software available these days.  See the Free Software Directory from the Free Software Foundation.  One of the free software products available from this website is OpenOffice, which includes a word processor, spreadsheets and more.

Another website which has links to free and reasonably priced software is PRDTax Freebies.

Everyone needs antivirus and firewall software.  Check with your internet service provider, because many of them now provide this software for free.

Google Pack is a collection of free software downloads including Star Office, Picasa photo organizer, Norton Security Scan, Spyware Doctor, Google toolbar and desktop, photo screensaver, RealPlayer, and other useful software.  You can pick and choose which products you wish to download.
