Form 1040

U.S. Individual Income Tax Return - this is the most detailed income tax return to fill out.

Form 1040 must be used under certain circumstances, such as:

bullettaxable income $100,000 or more
bulletincome includes certain types such as
bulletunreported tips
bulletcertain nontaxable distributions
bulletself-employment earnings
bulletincome received as a partner, a shareholder in an "S" Corporation, or a beneficiary of an estate or trust
bulletyou are eligible for the first-time homebuyer credit
bulletyou itemize deductions or claim certain tax credits or adjustments to income, or
bulletyou owe household employment taxes.
